Illustration Friday - Voices

Illustration Friday's topic this week is "Voices". The first thing that came to my mind was the voices on the sideline of a soccer game, so I decided to draw it. I tried coloring the picture in a new way this time, and I am pretty happy with the results. I use some filters as well to try and show a better texture of the grass and the background.

O topico dessa semana para o site Illustration Friday foi "Voices" (em portugues, "vozes"). A primeira coisa que me veio a mente foram as vozes da beira do gramado, entao eu resolvi fazer um desenho disso. Eu experimentei colorir o desenho de um jeito novo e fiquei contente com o resultado. Eu tambem usei alguns filtros do Photoshop para representar melhor a textura da grama e do fundo do desenho.

Desenho para o site Illustration Friday. Resolvi deixar esse em preto e branco devido a quantidade de detalhes. Nao que nao colorir esse desenho seja muito dificil (gracas ao Photoshop!), mas ia comsumir muito tempo. O tema foi "Rambunctious", ou seja, algo desordenado ou fora de controle.

A drawing for the website Illustration Friday. I decided to leave this one black and white, mainly because there are too many details in it. It wouldn't be hard to color it (Photoshop makes everything easier), but it would be too time consuming and lately I have been pretty busy.

Ainda esta meio dificil de acreditar que um dos melhores camisa 9 da historia do futebol agora e parte do timao. O unico lado que vai sair perdendo com tudo isso e o Flamengo, que desperdicou meses de trabalho de rehabilitacao com o atacante. Bom para o Corinthians: a torcida esta feliz, o time ganhou um reforco, e a diretoria e o depto. de marketing acharam uma mina de ouro.

It's hard to believe that probably the best number 9 of all times has agreed a deal with Brazil's Corinthians. This deal with Corinthians has everything it needs to be successful: the fans are excited, the team is now stronger, and the directors and marketing team will sure make a good amount of money from this. Bad for Flamengo, team where Ronaldo trained and did his rehab work for the past few months. All the time invested in him gone down the drain.

Show de Musica... Music Concert

I went to a Led Zeppelin cover band's concert last week, and it inspired me to draw a picture that has to do with music (I don't think I've ever done one before). I played around with the background to give it a different look, and I really like the final result!

Eu fui num show de uma banda cover do Led Zeppelin na semana passada, e com isso tive a ideia de fazer um desenho relacionado a musica. Eu coloquei um fundo diferente, so pra variar um pouco, e fiquei bem feliz com o resultado! Quem sabe eu nao comece a fazer mais disso?

Depois de muita luta na serie B o Timao finalmente foi campeao! Infelizmente teve briga no ultimo jogo, o que so' serviu pra deixar a foto do time mais feia haha. Uns hematomas e uns olhos roxos, mas o que importa e' que em 2009 o Corinthians esta de volta na primeirona!

After much hard work Corinthians was finally the champion of the Brazilian second division. Unfortunately there was a fight in the last and final game, which is why you see some players with swollen eyes and ripped clothes in the drawing, but all that matters now is that Corinthians (or Timao, "The Great Team") is back to the first division of the Brasileirao!

The best thing athletes can do is to keep their mouths shut. Cristiano Ronaldo, supposedly the world's best player, told the press that he wasn't only the best player in the world, but that he should also get the prize for the second and third best players. What a stupid mistake... I wonder if he is still going to say crap like that after being destroyed by Brazil, 6X2. I think it is time for you to think about what you say, Ronaldo.

Eu decidi fazer uma serie de desenhos pra mostrar as figuras que voce encontra na academia... o tanto de louco que voce ve nao e' brincadeira... E esse pessoal igual o homem do desenho e' bem comum: ao inves de fazer o que ele tem que fazer, ele vai pra academia e fica se gabando dos dias que ele jogava futebol americano na escola/faculdade. Meu amigo, esses dias ja passaram, deixa eu fazer minha musculacao em paz!

One of the most annoying types of people you will find at a gym are those like the guy in this drawing: an old dude who apparently goes to the gym not to lift weights or run, but to brag about the days when he played football for his high school team. Cuidado com o que voce coloca na internet. Hoje em dia e' muito dificil fazer algo online no anonimato. Para exemplificar isso desenhei essa serie de figuras que ilustra algo que eu ouvi falar nessas ultimas ferias de verao. Um grupo de alunos vandalizou o colegio onde estudavam e um deles teve a genial ideia de filmar e colocar no Youtube para todos verem como eles eram malandros. Resultado? Ficaram sabendo do video e descobriram quem fez o upload. Mesmo o rapaz nao tendo ido pra cadeia que nem no desenho, as consequencias nao foram boas. Qual e' a moral de tudo isso? 1.)Por mais daora que voce seja, nao destrua sua escola. 2.) Se voce for idiota suficiente pra participar de tais atos de vandalismo, faca um favor a si mesmo e nao coloque o video no Youtube.

Watch out for what you post on the web. Everything you do on the internet can be tracked down, making it easy to find the source of pretty much anything. This might sound a bit extreme, but trust me, it really isn't. I drew this series of pictures to illustrate something that happened to someone I knew this past summer. A very cool group of guys decided to vandalize their school. One of the members had a brilliant idea: he filmed it and posted it on Youtube, so that all his peers could see how awesome him and his friends were. It turns out the school found out about the video, found a way to see who uploaded it, and the genius who did it got in some big trouble. He didn't get in jail like the picture says, but the consequences were everything but good. What can you conclude from this? 1.)Don't destroy your school property. 2.) If you are retarded enought to do so, don't put it on Youtube: they will find you.

Boredom - Tedio

Eu aprendi que e' possivel ser produtivo mesmo quando voce esta entediado. Se nao fosse a aula de fisica eu nunca teria feito esse desenho, que mesmo sendo um pouco sem sentido ficou legal.

Being bored is not always a bad thing, and you can actually be quite productive when you don't have anything exciting to do. If it wasn't for Physics I would have never drawn this picture. It is a bit random, but I like the end result.

As eliminatorias da MLS ja estao ai, o basquete da NBA recomecou... Hora de torcer pros Lakers e pro Chivas USA representarem a cidade bem =)

MLS playoffs are here and the NBA season is just around the corner. Let's hope the Lakers have another great season and Chivas USA gets far (and possibly wins the MLS Cup)! Somebody has to represent L.A. after all, right?

Esse e' um dos meu desenhos favoritos. Eu fiz ele inspirado no jogo do Brasil contra os Estados Unidos em Setembro de 2007. Faltou fazer um fundo legal, cheio de gente, mas o importante e' que o desenho esta' representando bem o baile que o Brasil deu =)

This drawing is inspired in the U.S.-Brazil game that took place in September 2009. I'm missing a nice background there, but no matter what I drew it wouldn't be enough to show the awesome atmosphere in Chicago and the amazing fans that were there to support both teams.
